Concurrent Real-Time Reduces Manual Licensing Efforts with a Scalable Licensing Solution
Real-time software company eliminates manual license distribution and establishes a scalable licensing foundation for new FPGA product line with account-based licensing.
The Challenge
Concurrent Real-Time (CCRT), a subsidiary of Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK), develops real-time software and tooling for highly regulated environments including defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors. The company relied on manual license fulfillment requiring engineers to generate and email license codes to customers. There was a lack of shared framework across teams, and CCRT needed a scalable licensing solution for their new FPGA product line that could provide a structured licensing model without disrupting existing workflows.
The Solution
Implemented Zentitle2 with account-based licensing to automate software licensing operations, removing manual licensing admin tasks such as the issuing of licenses and their delivery. Deployed the End User Portal for customer self-service, centralized license issuance records, and aligned with Salesforce. Leveraged Zentitle's well-documented API for integration and worked directly with Nalpeiron's engineering team on a specific feature that was delivered in less than two months.
Key Features Implemented
The Results
CCRT eliminated manual license distribution, removing the need to email license codes to customers. Engineering hours previously spent on low-value licensing tasks were redirected to scaling the FPGA product. The team gained full visibility through account-based licensing and the End User Portal, while establishing an easily maintainable and scalable licensing foundation early in the product lifecycle.
"We were able to automate our software licensing operations with Zentitle2, removing manual licensing admin tasks such as the issuing of licenses and their delivery with a new account-based licensing approach."
